Introducing Chef Glenn Wheeler

Chef Glenn Wheeler has been a culinary force on the Omaha Restaurant scene for the last 16 years. Chef Wheeler’s passion for food started in his mother’s kitchen at a early age. In his teens he started working in restaurants in Michigan City Indiana. Chef Wheeler attended the Cooking and Hospitality Institute of Chicago.

Chef Wheeler has worked in New Orleans under noted chef Susan Spicer, as well as stages in many well known kitchens in cities like Minneapolis, New York City, Los Angeles and Miami. Chef Wheeler was the two time “Taste of Elegance “ winner for the state of Nebraska. He has been sponsored by the Pork Board at Food and Wine magazine's “Classic at Aspen.” He has opened many of Omaha’s top restaurants including Liberty Tavern at the 4 Diamond Hilton Omaha, where he cooked for presidents and many celebrities.

Chef Wheeler joined on with Spencer’s For Steaks and Chops in May of 2010. He infuses his flavor packed cooking style into weekend chef’s Tasting Menus and the monthly wine maker dinners as well as seasonal, locally sourced items on the Spencer ‘s dinner menu.


Brad Marr Bio

Brad is a native Omahan and graduated from the University of Nebraska at Omaha with a Bachelors of Fine Arts. His restaurant career began shortly thereafter and Brad has worked at restaurants including Nick & Tony’s Chophouse, Sullivan’s Steakhouse and V. Mertz.

Last year Brad and his wife Johanna, who is a manager at M’s Pub, completed their first level of testing with the Court of Master Sommeliers. Brad will be taking his certified exam in February of 2011.


Napa Valley Premier Dinner trip-September 2010

Spencer’s Omaha Premier Diners gathered in Napa Valley for a wonderful 3 day wine trip. We visited Suhr Luchtel, Peju, Frias Family Vineyards and Viader. We were treated like royalty and look forward to our trip for next year.

Wine Spectator Award of Excellence
